When picking a cafe to visit, you can find that a good review isn’t solely down to the food. A cafe’s interior plays an essential role for the whole experience. Knowing how to create an environment that complements the menu and the space’s interior architecture is not easy but TEMU made it happen. Housed in what was originally a heritage Southern Chinese Eclectic style shophouse, is a recently acclaimed cafe, TEMU which literally means 'meet up' in Malay.

To match the painstaking attention to detail within dessert to the aesthetic sensibilities of the space, TEMU also give attention to their visual and branding concept. According to TEMU, the idea behind the logo 'TEMU' was designed to play with the letter M showing two persons meet or shake hands. The logo story goes back to the definition of the word 'Temu' itself while bringing the tagline "Kamu & Kopi" (TEMU, 2021).

Together, they’ve created an elevated visual concept to enhance the menu that are served here, taking the patrons on a multisensory journey from the entrance and into the cafe which influenced not just by taste but also by light, textures of the wooden and steel materials and its biophilic appeal. Definitely a worth-visit cafe when you are in Georgetown!
